Delegate Kathleen Murphy represents Virginia’s 34th District, located in Fairfax and Loudoun County. The House District includes McLean, Vienna, Wolf Trap, Great Falls and parts of Eastern Loudoun. Delegate Murphy is a member of the House Finance and the Privileges and Elections Committees. She also belongs to the Military and Veterans Caucus and the Virginia Environment and Renewable Energy Caucus. She serves on the Board of Veterans Services and chairs the Women Veterans Workgroup.

Economic Development and Growth: Pro-growth as long as infrastructure (roads, schools and healthcare) is maintained to support that growth. Interested in diversifying private sector economy by focusing on biotech and health care innovation. Against legislation by the right wing that keeps women unable to compete for well paying jobs.
Transportation and Infrastructure: Understands that transportation is a huge issue in Norther Virginia, but opposes adding tolls to I-66 inside the Beltway. Instead she is working for efficient use of transportation funds and for Northern Virginia to get its fair share.
Protecting Women’s Rights: Equal Pay for Equal Work! Women need access and agency in all major decisions regarding healthcare, transportation and childcare, so that they can be providers for their families.
Protecting our Communities and our Children: Supports enhanced background checks and closing the gun show loophole, which allows people to purchase guns without a background check.
